A
Center For The Future
The Institute is working to create a very special place--unique
in the world-- which will provide a natural interface between theory,
research and practice. This international conference and retreat center
will provide parties to conflicts a place to reflect on differences
and collaborative solutions to problems. The center will be near the
beloved homes of George Washington and George Mason, and just across
the Potomac River from the nation's capital. It will consist of a 120
acre campus for quiet, uninterrupted meetings in a secluded, contemplative
setting, while being within easy reach of the rest of the world via
high-speed communications systems. Its advanced technology will extend
those conversations, and the learning process itself, to the most distant
points around the globe. This conference and retreat center, yet to
be named, will be a place of tangible hope and real progress toward
a more rational, peaceful world in the 21st century and beyond.
